Discover a bit about me
Hello, I’m Rosanna. I live in Montpellier, in the south of France, which is a small historical city near the sea. Internationally, the region is probably best known for its wine.
It’s definitely sunny and it’s very hot in the summer. Luckily there is a nice change of seasons, and it does get quite cold in the winter (winter-coat-and-scarf type of weather with the occasional 18°C afternoon).
I grew up in The Netherlands, in a postcard-pretty village in between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. I then moved to England to go to university and decided to work there initially. I ended up staying in the UK for 13 years.
Moving to France was quite random, which all started when the purchase of our apartment in London fell through. Although my husband is French so that did have something to do with our move! That was the summer of 2013 and we’re still here – the kids (three of them) have come along since.😊

More about my work in marketing & comms
A few different things came together when I created 10 Hours Eco Comms. Back in the UK, I mainly worked in events and PR. I worked there for 8 years.
When I then moved to France, I took the freelance route as a content marketer. I chose to freelance online because I didn’t speak any French initially (I do now, along with several other languages).
To find work I knew that the internet could help me. A few Google searches later, a few badly paid projects later, when I met some good long-term clients who were running small businesses.😅
With my clients I worked on all types of strategic comms and content-writing projects. The content creation was a broad scope of website messaging & copy, video transcripts, articles, strategic pitches, promo-material copywriting, service-launch work, podcast articles and event-expo planning.
I have been working with different start-ups for many years now. I enjoy working with entrepreneurs because you can work strategically and make a real visible difference.🙌

Eco-friendly habits
With awareness comes change, right? This has definitely been the case for me to start certain eco habits.
If you’re wondering/looking for ideas, here are some of my eco-friendly lifestyle habits:
I am a vegetarian (this goes back to childhood – thanks to my parents!). Not eating meat saves on an unquantifiable amount of energy/CO2, and obviously supports animal welfare.
Several years ago, we (my family and I) introduced one vegan day a week. The environmental reasons are obvious. Plus, this makes our kids more aware of the food-planet-climate situation. And I think it’s great to learn about the variety of a vegan diet.
I am keen to shop more responsibly and locally – both for things (although this part isn’t always easy nor successful on my part) and for food. Re the latter, we signed-up to a weekly anti food-waste initiative.
Probably our most impactful eco-friendly initiative is that we cycle whenever we can (we started the kids off early on their bikes). We have 7 bikes between us, including a (‘just pedal’) cargo bike.
We also started to take part in environmental initiatives in our local community.
So, we’re definitely doing some things, but green living is always work in progress!
Bringing eco into work
It’s quite simple, I want to do more for the climate movement and educate.
So, there you go.😊
